Inequalities in the Modern World
The most widespread discrimination is against the Roma population. Roma, also known as "gypsies" are an ethnic group located throughout Europe, Asia, and the North America. They are most prevalent in Central and Eastern Europe. They speak their own language know as Romani, there are several dialects which add up to almost two million people speaking Romani worldwide.
Even to this day Gypsies are looked down upon and thought to be of a lesser class. According to a report by Amnesty International in 2011 "Systematic discrimination is taking place against up to 10 million Roma across Europe. The organization has documented the failures of governments across the continent to live up to their obligations." Romanies face violence and verbal degradation in every aspect of their lives. People discriminate against gypsies because they are nomadic, exempt from taxes, and also have adopted a stigma for stealing things.

Theoretical Perspectives
Functionalists try to eliminate the problems discrimination and racism cause.
Conflict theorists use majorities' prejudice against minorities to control them.
Symbolic interactionists think members of society learn to be prejudiced from parents and peers etc.

Involvement
You can help make a difference in your local community!
The truth is, race and ethnic based discrimination probably takes place everywhere. If you see discrimination taking place in any shape or form, try to change the view point of the individual that is discriminating. In some cases, it may be such a part of there life that it cannot be changed, but it could also just be something that they do not even realize offends others. Inequality will never be fully stopped unless everyone works together to make a change.

Although the organization has only been active for a few days, they have already accomplished much throughout the world. With the help of this foundation, the end of racial and ethnic inequality may be in sight.
